Research focus
As a project coordinator, I support the Farooqi group with regulatory documentation preparation and oversight, grant applications and financial management. My role supports both academic and commercial clinical research.
Background and experience
I joined the team in July 2018, following many years working in industry and the NHS. My first introduction to clinical research occurred when I joined a major pharmaceutical company. I initially worked at the Belgian subsidiary of the organisation, before relocating back to the UK to join the training and quality control department. To develop my career in clinical research further, I worked with the NIHR Clinical Research Network and as Project Manager for a local Site Management Organisation. In these roles, I supported local investigators and industry partners across a wide range of specialities in both adults and children.
Working at the IMS-MRL
My current role has developed my skills at working with a wide range of stakeholders. This includes liaison with internal support teams at the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospitals, external funders and pharmaceutical companies. I assist with grant applications, study set up/maintenance and financial oversight. The overall aim is to collaborate with funders to support development of new treatments for patients.
