Working at the IMS-MRL
I am a research coordinator for the Hovorka group, where my main role is to assist the team to meet funding deadlines and obtain ethical and regulatory approvals for our studies. We are interested in using diabetes technology to improve health and quality of life in people with diabetes and related conditions. Specifically, a lot of my work involves the development and testing of the artificial pancreas in various populations.
My current focus is on setting up a new study, but I also spend a lot of time overseeing studies in progress. I also undertake some general administrative processes for the group, for example, related to personnel, purchasing and accounting issues. My team value my ability to focus on the details and sort out challenges of logistics.
Background and experience
I have worked for University of Cambridge for more than 30 years in various administrative roles. I have been in my current post within the Hovorka group for 15 years. For me, the best thing about my job at the IMS-MRL is the people I work with.
