Naomi McGovern’s laboratory is based at the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge. Her team researches the properties of mononuclear phagocytes (monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells) in health and disease. We are primarily interested in studying the role of these cells at the maternal-fetal interface, this includes both placental and endometrial tissue. We want to understand how these cells mediate tissue growth and development, and how these processes are disrupted in disease.
