My role is to assist the Head of Department/Director of the Institute’s Metabolic Research Laboratories/MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit with all aspects of administration and diary management.
Working at the IMS-MRL
I am personal assistant to the Head of the Department and MRC Director, and in addition, I manage the secretarial and reception teams. I liaise closely with other members of the admin team to support the smooth running of admin services within the department. This is important to our staff and students and for our external stakeholders.
Background and interests
I was born in Cambridgeshire and attended a state school. I have many years of secretarial and administrative experience. I have worked on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus for over 28 years, in both NHS and University administrative roles. The best thing about my job at the IMS-MRL is the wide variety of the work and the friendly people. Outside work, I enjoy knitting and gardening.
