I provide communications support for the IMS-MRL and I also coordinate all activities of Cambridge Metabolism which is based at the IMS-MRL.
Background and experience
I obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences from Exeter University which kick-started my interest and involvement in science and healthcare. Since then, I have had a varied career in medical communications. I have previously been a project coordinator and business manager at a private hospital, seminars manager for a pharma company, and I worked for over 20 years in a communications role with a medical research charity. I joined the IMS-MRL in March 2022.
Working at the IMS-MRL
My communications role for the IMS-MRL includes website and intranet maintenance, newsletter production, supporting the IMS-MRL seminar programme and helping to profile research news and major publications from the Institute. A key aspect is ensuring news of our research achievements is as accessible as possible.
As coordinator for Cambridge Metabolism, my role involves developing and promoting collaborative metabolic research activities and events among the broad academic research community in Cambridge. This includes liaising with members of all six Schools of the University and key regional partner organisations.
All members of staff at the IMS-MRL are encouraged to join the Network and benefit from membership.
