Agnes Lukasik is the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Manager for the IMS-MRL, bringing nearly two decades of research experience and a strong dedication to fostering community engagement within the Institute of Metabolic Science. With a background in research support, she has successfully transitioned into a strategic role focused on broadening public engagement, particularly with underserved groups, and enhancing the Institute’s visibility and impact within the community.
In her role, Agnes oversees a variety of initiatives that facilitate meaningful interactions between researchers and the public, including events like the Big Biology Day and the Cambridge Festival. She works closely with key University networks in patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE), collaborating with stakeholders across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
In addition to her engagement efforts, Agnes is committed to advancing a positive work environment through her involvement in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives. As a Wellbeing Advocate and Mental Health First Aider, she actively supports the wellbeing of staff and students, helping to cultivate a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
Agnes also brings valuable expertise in event management, social media strategy, and partnership building with local organisations. Her dedication to public engagement and community connection enhances the Institute’s mission and contributes to a culture of collaboration and inclusivity.
